A  project  to strengthen the standard of schools on the verge of collapse  in the zone.

Introduction :

School statistics compilation has revealed that there are 43 schools containing less than 100 students.  Most of these schools are situated in the rural areas and face the threat of closing school. Though there are imbalances in providing equal opportunities of  education if these schools are closed, the students will lose the educational opportunities due to low socio- economic backgrounds.  This has provided a complex issue in the education system.
In order to overcome this issue planning section of the zonal office expects to implement this project with the help of others organizations.  This issue is identified as a very important topic in the education planning at National and Zonal levels and the authority of development of these schools is to the zonal education office under the regional education authority.

Proposed Activities  In the Project

  1. Identifying schools in the zone students less than 100.
  2. Compiling a data base of those schools.
  3. Conducting one day workshops for the principals of those schools.
  4. Planning special programmes relevant to those schools.
  5. Providing a special training to the teachers in those schools.
  6. Appointing a facilitating team including the officers in the zonal education office.
  7. Appointing divisional level monitoring and observation and examine progress review.
