Introduction
Development section is the most outstanding section in the zonal education office. It co-ordinates with the school system to implement government education principles and reforms. It’s functions are to implement and modernize the changes of educational reforms taken place from time to time. The main focus of the vision and mission of this section is to provide the maximum service to the recipients.
Vision
To furnish a dutiful citizen to the nation who encompasses with knowledge skills, attitudes and moral values.
Mission
To array not only the school community but also the drop outs towards the national goals inculcating national thinking and to develop virtuous and quality education in the zone.
Key Functions
- All the responsibilities under ESDFP project Theme 2.
- Subject development of primary and secondary education.
- Monitoring of Teaching Learning Process, Conducting seminars, workshops and competitions.
- Monitoring of extra curricular activities and government examinations.
- Conducting and monitoring Zonal level term end and year end tests.
- In-service teacher training.
- Training and updating knowledge of the In-Service-Advisors.
- External school Supervision.
- Coordination among the Provincial Ministry, Provincial Education Department and the Ministry of Education.
- Principals’ training
- Conducting Grade 6-11 subject development activities
- Issuing leaving certificates (2nd copy) and recommendation of accuracy.
- Issuing permission letters to the public to use school play grounds
- Issuing permission letters for educational tours.
